The notorious influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate, who were charged with human trafficking in Romania, have arrived in the United States after Bucharest officials removed travel restrictions on them. The brothers arrived in Florida about lunchtime on Thursday.

The Tates, who hold dual US-British citizenship, were detained in late 2022 and formally charged last year with participating in a criminal operation that recruited women to Romania for sexual exploitation.  Andrew Tate was also accused of rape, and both brothers deny the claims.

“The defendants have been warned that intentionally violating these obligations may result in judicial control being replaced with a stricter deprivation-of-liberty measure,” the statement stated. After the brothers arrived in Florida, state Attorney General James Uthmeier announced in a social media post that his office will undertake a “preliminary investigation” into them.

Florida has a zero-tolerance policy for human trafficking and violence against women. If any of these alleged offenses fall under Florida jurisdiction, we will hold them accountable,” said Uthmeier, a Republican Governor Ron DeSantis appointee.
